Our Story.

Ethical Bean Company was established in 2017, however the love for coffee has always been imbedded in my DNA. Being a former finance professional in the City of London for several years, gave me numerous opportunities to taste various blends of coffee from all over the world. My heart always knew that I was going to create my own coffee company one day. Working for others was unnatural for me. Our first location was in Fleet Street, which was very successful, outside the world famous St. Bride’s Church. This was followed by further locations around London. In 2019, we got the opportunity to open a new location in Hackney Wick. We jumped at this location without any hesitation, as the location has been very synonymous with my lifestyle and ethos; one of being free spirited, kind and creative. The Hackney Wick location was large and therefore it was a no brainer to accompany great coffee with Vegan and Vegetarian food (being 90% Vegan myself). We offer great Vegan and Vegetarian friendly food, and are famous for our Ethical “Beefy” Burgers (100% Vegan) and great tasting healthy Smoothies.

Recently we have partnered up with a local Hackney Wick pastry producer and have seen an influx of locals flocking for our delicious vegan/gluten free sweet treats and pastries, this includes the infamous “Crodoughs/Cronuts”.

  • 4 Origin Blend

  • Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil & Sumatra

  • 100% Arabica

  • Organic Beans

  • Ethically and Fairly treated with local farmers

  • Using 100% recyclable and compostable packaging

  • Roasted in Sussex, UK – So every bean to cup maintains all it’s freshness

Our signature blend is called Anaiya, it’s a four-origin blend, from Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Sumatra. It’s 100% Arabica and Organic beans, ethically sourced, ensuring that the farmers get a fair shake for their hard work. The roasting is processed in Sussex, so that the coffee taste and freshness is never compromised.

Our signature blend leaves you craving for more, the best way I can describe it is, something my Italian Grandad said to me; “son, I drink your coffee slowly, so that I savour each sip, otherwise it will be over too quickly”. This was an honour to hear from him, more notably because he knows his coffee, and undoubtedly has had espresso running through his veins from a young age.
